Mandala I (front and detail view of front)

Artist Statement:
Mandalas have long been used as a tool for spiritual growth and meditation and they represent the basic nature of existence. The circle of the Mandala reflects the celestial circles we call the earth, sun and moon. The Mandala can also represent the circles of family, friends, and community. This quilt became the basis for my Mandala pattern.
